Hertha BSC integrated academy players kick-off second semester
The Hertha BSC Integrated Academy, launched in collaboration with International Soccer Academy & Hertha BSC achieved great success this past semester. Under the expert guidance of Head Coach Patrick Weiser, players have excelled both on and off the pitch, with three standout youth soccer players receiving offers from German clubs following successful trials.
Jackson Davenport (Georgia) secured a spot with SV Babelsberg’s U19 NLZ Liga team, while Marcus Sims (Georgia) and Gary Grigoryan, an Armenian National Team player from Virginia, both joined SC Fortuna Köln. These achievements are a testament to the academy’s rigorous training program and the opportunities provided through its strong European partnerships.
A Semester Full of Opportunities
During the first semester, Coach Weiser organized an impressive 15 trials for the academy players, connecting them with top clubs such as BFC Dynamo and VfB Oldenburg U19. These trials reflect the academy’s commitment to fostering talent and providing young players with pathways to professional football careers.
To celebrate Thanksgiving, all 20 players of the Hertha BSC Integrated team traveled to Spain, where they were joined by their families and fellow International Soccer Academy members from the Cádiz CF and Algeciras CF integrated teams. The event was a unique opportunity for players to bond and reflect on their progress while enjoying the warm Spanish hospitality. They also took on the U18 side of La Liga Academy Cádiz CF which resulted in a 0-0 draw.
Holiday Preparation and Winter Training
After an eventful semester, the players returned home for the holidays, reuniting with their families. Despite the break, they remained committed to their development, following an individualized winter training plans designed by Performance Coach Francis Kioyo to keep them in peak condition. On January 15th, the squad returned to Berlin, eager to continue their journey and build on their success.
Their first match of the new year is set for January 23rd at 7:15 PM against Berliner Amateure SC U19 at Olympiapark. This match marks the beginning of a crucial phase in their development as they aim to showcase their skills and attract further attention from top clubs. We also extend a warm welcome to two new players joining us: Nathan Levin from New Jersey and Christopher Duarte from New York.
A Proven Model for Success
Last season, 15 American and Canadian soccer players signed contracts to continue playing in Europe, setting a high benchmark for success. The Hertha BSC Integrated Academy is determined to maintain that standard, leveraging the expertise of its world-class coaching staff, including Head Coach Patrick Weiser, Team Director and Assistant Coach Michael Scavuzzo, Performance Coach Francis Kioyo and Physiotherapist Ioannis Grigorakis. Their dedication and experience have been instrumental in shaping the players’ growth and ensuring the academy’s strong start.
With hard work, determination, and the support of the International Soccer Academy’s integrated programs, the Hertha BSC Integrated Academy is sure to achieve even greater heights in the coming months.
