Deyovaisio Zeefuik signs new Hertha deal

Deyovaisio Zeefuik will continue to wear the Blue and White of Hertha BSC in the 2024/25 season. The Dutchman signed a new one-year deal with the club on Monday and will retain his shirt number of 42 for the upcoming season. “Deyo impressed in various positions last season with consistent performances and improved the team with his intensity, enthusiasm and dynamism. We are therefore delighted to have agreed to continue working together,” explained sporting director Benjamin Weber. Zeefuik himself is also happy to stay for another season and cites several key factors in his decision. “I’m happy to be here and I can really feel the trust of Benny and Zecke. Hertha is a great club with great facilities, but the fans were just as important to me. I’ve read all of their comments asking me to stay. It made me very happy and I felt proud to read them.”

21 appearances last campaign

The 26-year-old joined the capital club from FC Groningen in the summer of 2020. The Amsterdam-born full-back has made a total of 56 appearances for the Old Lady so far, scoring once and providing one assist. The defender has also spent time on loan at Blackburn Rovers and Hellas Verona. Last season, he made a total of 21 first-team appearances, and he will be looking forward to many more in the future.
