Michaël Cuisance signs for Hertha
Hertha BSC have strengthened their midfield ahead of the 2024/25 season, with Michaël Cuisance joining the club from Italian side Venezia FC on a deal valid until the summer of 2027.
“Michaël proved his talent early on at several big clubs. He is a special talent on the ball, has recently strengthened his tactical skills off the ball and has a powerful left foot. Despite his young age, he has a wealth of experience and knows how to deal with any opponent. We are delighted that he will be wearing blue and white in the future,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber about the 24-year-old. Cuisance himself added: “My family and I are very happy to have signed here. It’s a big step for us. It was an easy decision for me to take on this exciting challenge, because the club and I share the same ambitions. I can’t wait to train with the team and play at the Olympiastadion.”
The Frenchman will not need to adjust to a new division when he starts his career with the capital club – he spent last season on loan at VfL Osnabrück, contributing three goals and an assist in 25 2. Bundesliga appearances. Our new signing has already played in some of Europe’s biggest leagues – after starting his senior career with Borussia Mönchengladbach, he moved onto Bayern Munich, before turning out for Marseille in his native France, and Venezia and Sampdoria in Italy. Cuisance has also enjoyed his fair share of success along the way, including a treble win with Bayern in the 2019/20 season. The Strasbourg-born central midfielder has a total of 46 Bundesliga appearances, as well as over 60 caps for France at various youth levels.
