Luca Schuler joins Hertha
Just days after the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, Hertha’s first signing for the 2024/25 campaign has been finalised – Luca Schuler will join the capital club on a deal until 2027 when his contract at Magdeburg expires this summer.
“Luca has the perfect physique for a striker. He’s pacey, has an eye for goal and has a great mentality. He also has potential to develop even further,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber of the 6’3” attacker. The 25-year-old is delighted with the move: “I wanted to take the next step. When I heard that Hertha had made contact for me, I had a huge grin on my face. It’s a great club and a great city. There are lots of reasons I’m excited to get going,” said the new Hertha man.
Schuler, who hails from Neustadt an der Weinstraße, made his professional debut in the 2020/21 season for Schalke, going on to make two Bundesliga appearances for the Royal Blues. He has spent the last three seasons at Magdeburg, scoring 6 goals in 28 second-tier appearances in 2023/24. Schuler will be hoping to add to those goals with Hertha in the years to come.
