Hertha to face Rostock in the DFB-Pokal first round

We will face FC Hansa Rostock in our first competitive game of the 2024/25 season. The draw for the DFB-Pokal first round was made by Nils Petersen and DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth at the German Football Museum in Dortmund.

The German Football Association (DFB) have also announced that the game will be played at 15:30 CEST on Sunday, 18th August.

“We’re looking forward to another season of the Pokal! We saw last season how tough it is to play in Rostock. The game will be a test for us, but our aim is of course to get through to the second round,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber.

Second round to take place at the end of October

If the Old Lady do progress to the second round, they will play in the Pokal next on 29th and 30th October. The final will be held at the Olympiastadion Berlin on 24th May 2025.
