Thomas E. Herrich extends contract with Hertha BSC
Hertha BSC’s executive board have extended Thomas E. Herrich’s contract. The decision was made with the approval of the club’s supervisory board. Herrich has served as the Blue-Whites’ managing director since June 2022 and was a board member for many years before that.
Interim president Fabian Drescher said, “We’re delighted to be able to extend Tom Herrich’s contract. He’s done fantastic work over the past few months and has helped to turn Hertha BSC’s financial situation around. Tom carried out this process in a sustainable and authoritative manner, following the path of the so-called ‘Berliner Weg’. That’s why we’re happy that we’ve managed to finalise this extension after pushing it forward during last December’s committee meeting. We’re fully convinced that Tom, together with the rest of the board, will be able to continue in the same vein.”
Thomas E. Herrich: "I would like to thank both the executive and presidential boards for the trust they have shown in me. For as long as I am given the chance to bear this responsibility, we will continue on our chosen path with determination and without deviation, both in financial and sporting matters. The ongoing and upcoming challenges we face can only be conquered if we all work together. It's an honour for me to be able to continue on as managing director of this club that I hold so near and dear to my heart."
