Hertha BSC sign Andreas Bouchalakis
Hertha BSC have completed the signing of midfielder Andreas Bouchalakis from Olympiacos on a two-year deal until 2025. “Andreas made it clearly early in our talks that coming to Hertha is something that excites him. Not only has he made over 300 competitive appearances in Greece, England and Turkey, but he also experience in European competitions and for the national team that he can pass on to our young players both on and off the pitch,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber. The 30-year-old Greek, who will wear the number 5 shirt, said: “Moving to Germany was a big dream of mine. I’m looking forward to showcasing myself at Hertha BSC and want to use my experience to help the team achieve their goals.”
The left-footer made 226 appearances in all competitions for Olympiacos, including 13 in the UEFA Champions League and 26 in the UEFA Europa League. The 1.86-metre-tall midfielder lifted six league trophies and two domestic cups with the record Greek champions, who had been with 2013, excluding loan spells with Ergotelis FC (2013/14), Nottingham Forest (2017/18) and then Konyaspor in the second half of last season. Bouchalakis has been capped 36 times for his country since making his senior debut in 2018.
