Suat Serdar moves to Hellas Verona
The club from the capital have allowed Suat Serdar to move to Serie A side Hellas Verona on a loan deal. “We would like to thank Suat for his efforts at Hertha BSC given that he has always acted like a true professional, even when times haven’t been easy. We would’ve liked to keep a player like him under different circumstances. We wish him plenty of success in his new challenge,” says sporting director Benjamin Weber. “I felt happy within the team and in Berlin and have got to know some special people. Unfortunately, the sporting side of things didn’t go exactly as we had hoped. I wish Hertha and the fans a successful season,” the 26-year-old commented.
Serdar has been capped four times for Germany’s senior side, and made 69 appearances in total for the Blue-Whites – including one in the DFB-Pokal this season. The right-footed player scored seven goals and also provided two assists during his time in Berlin. Before moving to the capital, Serdar represented FC Schalke 04 and FSV Mainz 05. His spell in Italy, where he will also link up with former Hertha player Ondrej Duda, will be his first time going abroad in his career.
