Oliver Christensen joins Fiorentina
Oliver Christensen has left Hertha BSC with immediate effect to join Fiorentina. “Olli had the opportunity to join a top club in Serie A, which he wanted to accept. He fully identified with the club and the fans during his time here, and always gave it his all. We would like to thank him for his heartfelt efforts for the club,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber. “It was always a pleasure to play for Hertha in front of such amazing fans. I will always have fond memories of the club and this city and wish Hertha nothing but the best. At the same time, I’m looking forward to being able to prove myself in Serie A,” said Christensen.
The goalkeeper moved to Berlin in summer 2021 from Odense BK, and became the club’s first-choice between the sticks after the successful relegation play-off against Hamburger SV. Christensen featured in 34 of a possible 35 competitive games in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal last season. The Dane also took part in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
