Dárdai & Ngankam back, Dudziak involved for the first time
Pál Dárdai was able to welcome back several players to training on Tuesday morning. “I don’t yet have my final squad for the season. There will still be some comings and goings, but last week was still a lot of fun. The next week will be a lot harder,” said the head coach after Saturday’s friendly in Stahnsdorf.
Several players return, Dudziak trains too
The 47-year-old’s training session on Tuesday involved a number of passing drills, before a mini-tournament at the end. Márton Dárdai and Jessic Ngankam, who both recently took part in the U21 European Championship, returned to Berlin, as did Krzysztof Piątek. New signing Jeremy Dudziak trained for the first time with his new club. Deyovaisio Zeefuik returned last week and trained on Friday. Ibrahim Maza, Kélian Nsona and Suat Serdar all worked individually.
The players trained for almost two hours at Schenckendorffplatz, putting in a hard shift. Dárdai was vocal throughout, shouting things like “Good, take on the responsibility.”
Busy days coming up
Tuesday morning’s session was the start of a packed schedule for our players this week. “We need to keep working hard, try to take fewer touches and play more vertically. We are working on defending from the front with more Gegenpressing,” said coach Dárdai. The players will train again in the afternoon, ahead of two more sessions on Wednesday (indoors in the morning, on the pitch at 16:00 CEST). There is one session scheduled for both Thursday and Friday morning (10:00 CEST), with pre-season friendly number two taking place on Friday against BFC Dynamo (7/7/23 at 19:00 CEST). The third match is then a day later against BSC Young Boys in Biel.
