Further friendlies announced – three games against Belgian sides

Hertha still have a few weeks to go until the first game of the season away to Fortuna Düsseldorf (29/7/23, 20:30 CEST). This year’s pre-season training camp in Austria takes place between 12th and 21st July and includes two friendlies. The first one for Pál Dárdai’s side is on 15th July (16:00 CEST) against RWD Molenbeek at the Steinbergstadion in Leogang. Molenbeek, close to Brussels, won promotion to the Belgian top flight last season. Hertha will also face the reigning Belgian champions, Royal Antwerp, on 16th July (13:00 CEST) in Saalfelden. They are coached by Mark van Bommel, a former Bundesliga winner and head coach in Germany.

Final friendly in Liège

Our squad will travel straight from Zell am See to Liège for the final friendly on 21st July (18:00 CEST). We will take on Royal Standard Club at their Maurice-Dufrasne-Stadion. The Belgian side, who are also part of 777 Partners’ multi-club network, have won 10 Belgian titles to date. “We have found a good mix of opponents for our pre-season preparations and they will provide us with some good tests ahead of the start of the new campaign,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber. The official season-opening day will take place at the Olympiapark a day after the Liège game.
