Jovetić and Ejuke leave Hertha BSC
Even before the final game of the season against Wolfsburg, the Blue-Whites had been making team planning decisions. The club, together with the team, said goodbye to Stevan Jovetić and Chidera Ejuke at the weekend. “Jove’s footballing abilities are unquestionable. He has helped us time and time again with his vision, his technique and his understanding of the game,” said Benjamin Weber. “Our thanks also go to Chidi, who unfortunately was unable to play the role that we all had hoped in the second half of the season due to injury. We wish both of them all the best on and off the pitch,” continued Hertha’s sporting director.
Jovetić joined the 'Old Lady' from AS Monaco ahead of the 2021/22 season and has made 40 appearances in the last two years. During this time, the 33-year-old scored eleven goals and picked up a further four assists. Ejuke joined the Blue-Whites on loan from CSKA Moscow last summer. The Nigerian played 20 games, picking up three assists. Ivan Šunjić’s loan from Birmingham City has also come to an end. Hertha BSC wish all three all the best in their private and professional lives.
