Dárdai and the Germany U21s lose to England

On Tuesday evening, four Hertha players took part in the last round of international fixtures. Over the course of Wednesday, the players will return to training at Schenckendorffplatz ahead of the game against Hoffenheim, for which preparation had begun on Tuesday.

Kanga’s second appearance, Ejuke and Rogel do not feature

Márton Dárdai played the full 90 minutes of the Germany U21 national team’s game against England. But the central defender could not help the team avoid 3-1 defeat despite a tidy first half performance which included Germany taking the lead through Felix Nmecha in the 35th minute. “We started the game well and then had a deserved 1-0 lead. In the second half, we lost our away a bit,” suggested Dárdai. Chidera Ejuke did not appear for Nigeria in their 2-1 friendly defeat against Algeria. Similarly, Agustín Rogel remained on the bench as Uruguay beat Canada 2-0. Wilfried Kanga made his second appearance for the Ivory Coast in the 3-1 win against Guinea, coming off the bench in the 61st minute. “I am pleased for him; every appearance for the national team gives you a boost,” said head coach Sandro Schwarz, pleased for our number 18.
