Rogel makes his international debut

While the majority of our Hertha players played a friendly against 1. FC Frankfurt in Brandenburg on Thursday, eight of our squad are still on their travels with their national team until the middle of next week. Agustín Rogel was initially on the bench for Friday’s friendly against Iran but he ended up making his debut for Uruguay after just five minutes. In the end, the South American side lost 1-0, but the 24-year-old was able to put up with defeat due to the special feeling of making his debut. Meanwhile, Stevan Jovetić and his Montenegro team-mates were beaten by Bosnia-Herzegovina away from home by the same scoreline. Our number 19 started from the off but was substituted after 70 minutes. The next task on the agenda for the 32-year-old and his compatriots is the Nations League. They will face Finland in Podgorica on Monday (26.09.22, 20:45 CEST).

Kanga another hoping for his international debut

In that competition, Dodi Lukébakio, Peter Pekarík and Oliver Christensen have also been called upon by their national teams. All three, however, have not yet got any minutes under their belts. Lukébakio and Belgium play host to Netherlands, our right back and his Slovakia side host Belarus, whilst our shot-stopper welcomes France with his Denmark team-mates.
