Santi Ascacibar leaves Hertha on loan

A loan deal has been agreed between Hertha BSC and Serie A side US Cremonese for Santi Ascacibar. The agreement, which was reached by the two clubs on Saturday (23.07.22) includes a buy option. “Santi already reached out to us in the winter break about his wishes to take on a new challenge. The way he dug in for the club and for the team in the second half of last season following his decision is testament to his character. We have now agreed to Santi’s request and wish him all the best for the future both on and off the pitch,” said Fredi Bobic. The defensive midfielder moved to Berlin from VfB Stuttgart in January 2020 and featured in 49 Bundesliga games for the Blue-Whites.
