Jessic Ngankam returns to Hertha
After a year-long loan spell at SpVgg Greuther Fürth, Jessic Ngankam will return to the capital city. The 21-year-old attacker has also extended his contract with Hertha BSC until 2025. “Unfortunately, Jessic suffered an injury at the beginning of the season that saw him unable to pick up playing time until the second half of the season. However, he will be able to return to us having gained valuable experience. We are looking forward to having him back and are pleased that he has agreed to extend his contract with us by an additional two years,” said Fredi Bobic.
Ngankam joined the Hertha academy from Füchse Berlin Reinickendorf in 2006. Four years later, the 1.84m tall centre-forward made his professional debut for the Blue-Whites, and has since gone on to feature 19 times for the club in the Bundesliga (2 goals). Ngankam has also appeared in 25 Regionalliga games with the Hertha U23s, scoring 12 goals. Last season, he made six appearances in the Bundesliga with Fürth (2 goals). Ngankam received his first call-up to the Germany U21s in May 2022.
