Excited, focused and ready
Wins build confidence and bring points – that’s clear. And what’s the best way to increase your chances of winning? By training well! After two weeks full of intense training sessions at Schenkendorffplatz, our Herthaner have picked up two wins in the league recently, and those six points have massively improved our position in the fight for survival. However, they are six points which have not yet confirmed our top-flight status for next season.
The Blue-Whites were visibly ready for the start of the new week of training on Wednesday and really got involved with the session. We’re hoping that what has worked so well on two occasions will go well for a third time this weekend. “We mustn’t let up now, we’ve not achieved anything yet. Our complete and utter focus is on Bielefeld. We want to carry on our good form on Saturday,” Marco Richter, who is back in contention to feature after missing the Stuttgart game due to suspension, summarised the team’s approach for the game against Arminia (30/04/22, 15:30 CEST). “We’ll see if that’s enough for us to succeed at full-time, I guess,” added Richter, who states he isn’t focusing too much on the numbers or on Stuttgart’s match against Wolfsburg this weekend.
Duo returns
The excitement was clear to see during the 90-minute session. After some strength and conditioning exercises came some hard-fought training games before the session ended with some crossing and shooting drills. Linus Gechter and Myziane Maolida, who have both been sidelined recently, also took part in bits of today’s session. Prince Boateng, Lucas Tousart and Vladimír Darida trained individually today for workload management reasons, whilst Stevan Jovetić and Kélian Nsona continued to work hard to get back to full fitness. Just to have one of these players back at the weekend would give the team a real boost, help to raise our confidence as well as our chances of picking up more points.
