Marcel Lotka to leave Hertha BSC in summer
The winter transfer window has been closed for a month, but plans are still being made for the coming season. U23 goalkeeper Marcel Lotka is leaving the club at the end of the current campaign and will move to Borussia Dortmund’s reserve team.
Bundesliga debut in Freiburg and eleven appearances for U23s
The 20-year-old joined Hertha in September 2020 from Bayer 04 Leverkusen and was named in the first-team squad on four occasions before making his Bundesliga debut between the sticks in Freiburg last week. The 1.90m-tall Duisburg native also made eleven appearances for the club’s reserve side in the fourth-tier Regionalliga, keeping two clean sheets. During his time in the capital, Lotka earned a call-up to the Poland U21 squad, who he has represented twice to date. Before that, the goalkeeper had represented his home country on 18 occasions across various youth levels.
