Snow was on the ground as Fredi Bobic and Tayfun Korkut made their short journey from dressing room to conference room for the latest press talk ahead of the game at home to Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday (15:30 CET). “We need to be patient, yet determined. Fredi Bobic: Prince is one of those players who has a bit of the street footballer mentality about him. It’s brought him very far in his career and he’s set examples for young players along the way. The way he has fallen down and got back up before pays testament to that. He gets on to the pitch in important phases for us, but he’s even more important off the park. The coach knows the best times to put him in. He does a lot of good for the team with his experience.

It’s extremely important that we can depend on one another and that we protect and structure ourselves well. When things don’t go to plan – which can happen from time to time – everybody needs to know how to deal with it. We need to get rid of the moments of imbalance from our game. If we can do that we will be successful.

Tayfun Korkut: The game against Stuttgart gave me a lot of new impressions. There were a lot of positive aspects, especially possession. We were dangerous, not simply being content with passing the ball around at the back. What we did have though were difficulties, like in the defence in counter-attack situations. That was one of the things we concentrated on this week. We’re confident that we’ve come a step further.
