Rune Jarstein sidelined for the time being
Rune Jarstein has been forced to take some time out once again. Our long-serving goalkeeper has undergone a successful operation on his knee after feeling some pain there during recovery training. This means that ‘Krake’ will be unable to take part in training for the time being and will hopefully return after several weeks of recovery at some point next year. The Norwegian was in rehabilitation and was working on his recovery after his Coronavirus infection with fitness coach Hendrik Vieth and had took part in some goalkeeper training sessions, but this has delayed his return to the sticks somewhat.
179 games for ‘The Old Lady’
Jarstein joined Hertha BSC from Viking FK in January 2014 and has since made 179 appearances for the club. The 2018 Norwegian Footballer of the Year has also kept 52 clean sheets during this time and signed a contract extension until 2023 in May of this year. The 37-year-old has had spells at Norwegian record champions Rosenborg BK and at Odds BK. Before contracting the virus the goalkeeper was his country’s No. 1 and has made 72 appearances for the ‘Lions’.
