Myziane Maolida joins Hertha BSC
One day before the end of the transfer window, the ‘Old Lady’ has added a further new signing. Myziane Molida joins from French top-division club OGC Nice on a long-term contract until 2025. “Strengthening the wing positions was one of our targets, and with Myziane we look to have more flexibility in the attacking areas. With his speed and quality on the ball, he will definitely bring our game forward. We’re really looking forward to working with him over the next few years,” said Fredi Bobic on Monday, mentioning the strengths of our eighth signing this summer. The Paris-born winger is brimming with excitement for his new challenge: “Hertha really put a lot of effort into signing me, which I was impressed by. As well as that, the discussions I had with the staff were very comfortable, so the decision was pretty easy for me in the end. Now I can’t wait to be with my new teammates on the pitch,” said the 22-year-old, who will take the number 11 shirt at Hertha.
After starting his playing life with Antony Sports and AC Boulogne-Billancourt, the Parisian born to Comorian parents joined the youth academy of Olympique Lyon. After 22 games and three goals for OL in four years, he moved to fellow Ligue 1 club OGC Nice. There, he made 63 appearances, scoring five times and creating seven more. Since March 2015, the left-winger has played in the French national team’s youth squads. In teams ranging from the U16s to the U20s, he has played 43 times for his country and been involved in 17 goals.
