Omar Alderete joins Valencia

Hertha BSC have loaned Omar Alderete to Valencia for the 2021/22 season. The Spanish side will also have an option to buy the defender. Both clubs agreed on the details of the deal on Monday. “Omar informed us that he would like to play in La Liga and we have fulfilled his wish. We would like to thank Omar for his time here at Hertha BSC and wish him all the best for the future,” commented Fredi Bobic, managing director for sport.

Alderete joined the ‘Old Lady’ in October 2020 from FC Basel, going on to play 17 Bundesliga games last season. The defender, who has won seven caps for Paraguay, previously played for Argentine clubs Atlético Huracan and Gimnasia de la Plata and Cerro Porteño in his home country. He also played twice for his nation in Copa América recently.
