Season ends prematurely for Luca Netz

A bitter blow for Luca Netz and Hertha BSC: our academy product has suffered a broken metatarsal in training and will need an operation. The boy from Berlin will be unable to take further part in training or matches this season. “It’s obviously a shame for Luca, who has already developed well with us as a 17-year-old and has put in some good performances when he’s played. But he’s still young, he is always positive and he’ll come back from this,” said head coach Pál Dárdai on Thursday (25/03/21).

So far this season, left-back Netz has made eleven Bundesliga appearances. He has been at the club since 2010, working his way up through the ranks in the Hertha BSC Football Academy before joining up with the first-team squad last summer. He recently scored his first top-flight goal with a late equaliser against Stuttgart.
